National Telecommunication Corporation, the official telecomm service provider to the Government of Pakistan, requires the services of the experienced professionals for the following post :-

Roles & Responsibilities

System & Network Administrator, shall review, improve, and SNA Section ensuring efficient, effective and timely decision-making to derive the organization into a top performing telecom platform taking appropriate initiatives through following measures:-

Designs/implements complex local and wide-area networks of machines
Works under general direction from senior management. Establishes/recommends policies on system use and services
Apply host security (for example, passwords, uids/gids, file permissions, file system integrity, use of security packages)
Build firewalls, deploying authentication systems, or applying cryptography to network applications
Administers a mid-sized site alone or assists in the administration of a larger site
Manages a site with 100% uptime requirement. Experience developing/implementing a site disaster recovery plan
Implement and maintain Internet services
Support/maintain Windows infrastructure
Ensure adequate support to IT users
Predict future requirements and plan for future expansions at region level
Support for Business Partners relating to IT including network and OS.
Contract support/maintenance activities to third parties
Protect IT infrastructures from viruses &any other attack
Implement “Security Policy” and ensure Procedures to comply with this Security Policy
To configure/manage/monitor all the networking equipments
Management and troubleshooting of the Network & software applications, equipments and infrastructure installed at different Offices and Data Centers
To define and implement Network Security and Network Management policies and procedures.
Interaction with end users (i.e. employees of Departments) to provide support regarding network related issues like connectivity with servers, PCs and other equipments on the LAN/WAN
To communicate and liaison with web hosting and Internet connectivity (bandwidth) provider(s) for reliable, smooth and stabilized web hosting of websites
To manage the local and foreign hosted staging and productions servers hosting Websites and back-office applications for Organization
Interaction with end users to provide support regarding software and hardware related issues
To maintain inventory for hardware and software components installed and handed over to employees of different Departments/Divisions
To define and implement System Security and Management policies and procedures
To supervise and liaison with software development/ customization vendor(s) to monitor the performance of vendor/s and to ensure that latest patches of operating and application software are installed on the staging/ production servers
Worked on Large Servers (IBM, HP, SUN), able to manage heterogeneous hardware environment.
Excellent Knowledge of Web server configuration
Very well knowledge of ORACLE/SQL Server/ ODBC.
In depth Working knowledge of the network topologies, protocols, tools and techniques
Hands on knowledge about security features of different networking/security products
Hands on experience regarding defining and implementing Network Security Policies at organization (s) having reasonable large number of computer users
Experience of Configuration, Management, and Troubleshooting of Network devices (Routers, Switches, DSL Modems, Firewalls, IDS, IPS, Load Balancers, etc.)
Demonstrate knowledge about features of different software packages, servers and operating platforms
In depth working knowledge along with Industry Standard Certifications on Storage Area Networks and Backup Libraries
Hands on experience of defining and implementing System Security Procedures and Policies at public or private organizations and entrepreneurs
Hands on experience of Multiple Flavours of Unix and Windows Family Operating Systems on Mission Critical, High End Systems
Experience of Configuration, Management, and Troubleshooting of Operating Platforms and Software Applications hosted on Servers and PCs deployed at different Government Offices and Ministries
Well versed about the Configuration and Installation of Data Base and Application Servers on different Operating Platforms
Preference will be given to the professionals with Industry Standard Certifications in the respective discipline
Any other task(s) assigned from the reporting officer(s) from time to time.
